Microsoft honors 12 outstanding Microsoft Dynamics partners
Microsoft Corp. has honored 12 of its thousands of partners with its 2007 Microsoft Dynamics(TM) outstanding partner awards. The companies were awarded during the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC), Microsoft’s annual event for its industry partners. Microsoft also recognized the members of the 2007 Microsoft Dynamics Inner Circle and the 2007 Microsoft Dynamics President’s Club. Microsoft Dynamics is a financial, supply chain management solutions, and customer relationship center that helps businesses work more efficiently.
STMicroelectronics to collaborate with IBM on chip technology
STMicroelectronics and IBM have signed an agreement to develop a next-generation process technology that will be used in semiconductor development and manufacturing. The agreement combines 32-nanometer (nm) and 22nm complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) process-technology development, advanced research adapted to the manufacturing of 300-millimeter (mm) silicon wafers, and design enablement. It will also include collaboration on IP development and the ability to speed the design of system-on-chip devices in these technologies. STMicroelectronics is a leading developer of semiconductor solutions for microelectronics applications.
Corning announces breakthrough in optical fiber technology
Corning, Inc. has announced the development of a new technology involving optical fibers that will enable telecommunications carriers to install fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks. The nanostructure-based breakthrough technologies allow cabled fiber to bend around very tight corners without signal loss. In comparison, current optical fiber installations do not maintain signal strength. Corning, Inc. is a global leader in specialty ceramics and glass. The company makes keystone components that help high-technology systems with consumer electronics, telecommunications, mobile emissions control, and life sciences.
