Data Warehouse Developer Jobs description
The responsibility of a data warehouse developer is to define, test, analyze, and maintain new as well as existing software applications to support business requirements. A data warehouse developer writes, tests, and analyzes software programs and applications. Duties include documenting, researching, designing, and modifying the software specifications throughout the software development life cycle. A data warehouse developer collaborates with programmers and designers for conceptualizing and developing new reports, maintaining and updating existing reports as needed, designing and implementing processes, as well as perform complex data analysis to assess existing business systems and procedures. A data warehouse developer provides project status to the top-management, develops, and maintains the user manual and guidelines, as well as trains the end users and new employees.A data warehouse developer should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or software engineering. Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL, and ETL tools are always an advantage. Experience with a report writing tool (Cognos, Crystal, Business Objects, etc.) is also a plus. Experience with using an ETL tool (DTS, Data Integrator, Oracle Warehouse Builder) is an added advantage.
