Description
The Lead Cloud container and Kubernetes Architect leads the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud computing. The Lead Cloud Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Responsibilities
The Lead Cloud Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud computing environments. Responsible to Build/Deploy/validate/test/troubleshoot clusters and containers . Guides team members to help resolve container related issues. Works with business to understand their container application needs and helps them with application installations on the containers Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
We are seeking a Container Architect with extensive experience working in a complex computing environment to join our Cloud Platform Architecture Team. As a Lead Container Architect, you will work as part of a team that designs and architects Humana's next generation internal and external Container infrastructure & experience. A thorough understanding of and working experience with Azure AKS, GKE & Docker is required. To be successful you will need a strong technical orientation; be a creative problem solver; be motivated to advance in the field; and work well in a team-oriented environment.
Job Responsibilities
Design, build and deploy Container solutions across Enterprise Azure tenant
Design, Build and Implement Azure AKS Container Services
Design & Build Technical Architecture for Isitio
Lead technical deployments that involve multiple IT teams and stakeholders
Provide technical direction to meet the internal needs
Develop, enhance, orchestration and automation of Container enablement tools
Design a highly scalable multi-tenant container infrastructure to support the company's future growth
Provide innovative solutions for complex container eco-systems with Docker, Istio, HELM
Create documentation and implementation plans to allow support teams to build and manage the internal Container environment
Build Containers technologies and make recommendations based on knowledge and research
Required Qualifications
3 years of Cloud experience within enterprise environments
5 years of hands on experience design and building container infrastructure
Solid architecture & design experience in using AKS or GKE
Established experience with automated CI/CD to support multiple software teams
Demonstrated experience with Istio Design and Support
Demonstrated experience with Docker
Demonstrated with Kubernetes Operators & Controllers
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently to support deadlines
Demonstrate ability to use problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issues
Demonstrate ability to write and present effective materials, including presentations, status reporting, technical diagrams and flowcharts
Ability to follow and adhere to policies, procedures and standards relating to network and systems management
Prepare detailed build/test plans to implement new technologies and configurations
Ability to collaborate with a team working across multiple locations
Preferred Qualifications
Cloud Certification is strongly preferred
A track record of success developing and deploying Container technical solutions to business problems for or within large enterprise organizations
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
Experience with the design and development of cloud-native, secure, distributed applications
Knowledge with modern services controls such as IAM, access control, monitoring, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, and containers
Knowledge of infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting and configuration management
Working knowledge of designing high availability systems in the cloud (fault domains, availability zones, deployment slots, regions)
Experience developing ARM Templates, or Terraform
Experience and working knowledge of HELM Charts
Strong Cloud Network and Security knowledge
Experience using Source Control
*Experience working in an agile continuous delivery workflow & team (Kanban)
*Experience communicating technical complexity and change to a broad spectrum of stakeholders
*Experience with technical writing and documentation
