The Engineering Software Tools Leader will address complex issues as they arise, perform people leader activities including developing team members, collaborate in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide functional leadership and technical direction to your team, ensuring compliance to company regulations, standards, and work processes
Establish priorities for your team members that align with company objectives
Support definition and development of engineering software tools aligned with product area roadmaps and continuous improvement
Support lab security practices to ensure cybersecurity compliance while driving efficiency for engineering teams
Provide oversite for software tools and lab support activities through proper resource assignment, status reporting, and scope control to ensure accomplishments are of high quality and aligned with estimates
Facilitate a high level of collaboration between your team and other areas of GE Aerospace and ensure work outputs are aligned with customer/program needs
Manage resource supply and demand for your team, including recruitment of direct staff, compliant placement of work at GE global sites, and outsourcing to suppliers and/or contractors
Proactively communicate and support senior leadership with technical, organizational, resourcing, and staffing information and actions
Continually assess individual performance and provide feedback with candor and humility
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM related field from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering discipline
