WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

8 years of hands-on experience in application configuration, customization, development, testing, support, and post-implementation refinement, with extensive exposure to enterprise planning and/or ERP solutions.

6 years working as an application engineer or system analyst in a sophisticated matrix organization within a global IT environment, possessing an excellent understanding of business processes in Planning – preferably in Retail, Supply Chain, and/or Financial Planning.

5 years of experience in software engineering, including experience with cloud technologies (such as AWS, Azure, GCP), backend services development, and 3rd party integration tools, like NiFi or Kafka.

Solid understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, or C#, and strong data profiling and analysis skills in NoSQL and relational data store environments.

Proven understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and modern software architecture.

Proficient in DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, and automated testing, to ensure streamlined and efficient software development and deployment processes.

Proficient in Agile methodologies and best practices, including Scrum and Kanban.

Strong project management competence, with the ability to effectively plan, complete, monitor, and control engineering delivery in a structured manner.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record to mentor, coordinate, and guiding teams while collaborating with both business and technical audiences.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed organizational environment, with globally distributed teams with varied strengths, excelling in team-oriented roles that rely on the ability to collaborate.

Self-directed, comfortable working in ambiguous environments, and capable of building positive relationships across Product, Architecture, and Engineering while influencing decisions and changes across the loosely coupled team.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $131,000 in our lowest geographic market to $285,000 in our highest geographic market. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

As a Lead Application Engineer on the Merchandise Financial Planning team, you will guide a team of engineers to envision and deliver innovative, seamless planning solutions using a continuous delivery model on Nike's connected planning platform. This role collaborates with Product Management, architects, and technology providers to build services that are robust, architecturally sound, easily maintainable, and highly scalable for various demand sensing and planning experiences. We focus on merchandise financial planning and integrated business planning. The successful candidate is an experienced software engineer with excellent communication skills, who can multitask, innovate, and challenge conventional thinking.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Lead a product engineering squad delivering end-to-end technology solutions in support of Demand Planning, Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) & Integrated Business Planning (IBP) capabilities.

Ensure the team is bringing to bear Nike’s Global Technology delivery methodology to develop Demand Planning capabilities.

Stay ahead of industry trends and leads the development of key innovation platforms.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Commercial Analytics, and source data owners to develop a balanced roadmap for MFP Engineering capability.

Partner with Product Management to ensure outcomes are aligned with business expectations.

Partner with Engineering Directors and Managers, and Program Management to build an effective team and partnership with collaborators.
