What will I be doing?
As the Lead Software Engineer, Property, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software systems used in Hilton properties, and for providing technical leadership to the development efforts. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software engineering principles and can work independently, collaborate with teams, and mentor junior developers.
More specifically, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated software systems using industry-standard tools and technologies
Work closely with multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop technical solutions that meet those requirements
Provide leadership to the development team, including mentoring junior developers, reviewing code, and ensuring that standard methodologies are followed
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of coding standards and best practices
Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development, and find opportunities to incorporate new tools and techniques into our development process
Collaborate with other senior engineers and technical leaders to drive the overall technical direction of the organization
Implement new requirements within our Agile delivery methodology while following our established architectural principles
Debug and resolve production issues as needed

To fulfill this role optimally, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
Five (5) years of professional experience within Technology or a related field
Four (4) years of specialized experience in developing applications using Java, Python, or similar languages
Three (3) years of Experience working with technologies including but not limited to AWS cloud solutions, Microservices, and API management.
Good understanding of database design and development, including SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience in Agile methodology standard processes and familiarity with Agile software tools such as JIRA
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree plus 6 years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12 years of Technology related experience
Seven (7) years of professional experience within Technology or a related field
Six (6) years of professional experience in software development
Two (2) years of full-cycle software development in an Agile environment
AWS or Java Certifications
