Description
Director, Enterprise API Standards and Governance is a pivotal role in leading the technology transformation efforts focused on defining and managing the API architecture, standards and governance through the entire Enterprise API lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Articulate and evangelize Enterprise API architecture and patterns including any interim/transition states
Lead creation of standard solution architecture patterns for Enterprise API consumers/providers
Partner with Enterprise API Product Management to co-create and manage an enterprise catalog of APIs
Define and evangelize API discovery, design, development and operationalization standards
Set-up and lead a governance program to streamline all aspects of Enterprise API lifecycle management
Co-create Enterprise API provisioning and consumption security standards with Enterprise Information Security
Represents Enterprise API and Integration function in technology review forums
Work closely with Enterprise API Engineering to deliver shared/platform capabilities that enable federated Enterprise API development
Lead and coach others towards enablement of contemporary engineering and agile practices
Drive improvements in the velocity, scale, and sophistication of engineering solutions
Specific qualifications include:
8 years of experience in enterprise software engineering leadership roles at leading-edge companies
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar field required
MS or higher in an engineering discipline is preferred
Experience defining technology standards and building frameworks for adoption and governance
Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure
Experience with cloud environments, cloud services, and platform software
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and building-trusting relationships with stakeholders
Experience working with mission critical systems is preferred
Ability to apply the principles of analytical and critical thinking skills and other professional practices to diagnose or define problems, collect data and solve abstract problems with widespread unit or organizational impact
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative and agile environment
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
Prior management or team leadership experience
This position is a US-based remote role
Travel would include 2 - 3 days a month if not in the Louisville or DC area
