SUMMARY
Bering Straits Information Technology, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Software Systems Engineer. Software testing services needed to support the testing of systems and applications that will support the Decennial Census 2018 End to End Test. These systems include, but not limited to Web based GUI products, Mobile products, COTS products, etc. The Software Testers will be primarily responsible for developing, conducting and documenting the results of the testing throughout the software testing lifecycle. Testing will consist of the functional, interface, thread, system, user acceptance and regression.

Seeking a Software Systems Engineer that is experienced and skilled in all aspects of the testing including test planning, test design, test execution, test evaluation. The candidate should be very experienced with structured software development methodologies (waterfall and agile) and modern software test tools and techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum) Qualifications:
Strong analytical, technical, and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work well with others in a team environment and also able to function independently
Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines for multiple projects simultaneously and work in a high pressure production environment
Education/Experience
: Bachelor's and/or Master Degree in Computer Science, Scientific, Information Systems, or appropriate engineering discipline. The candidate must have six (6 ) years of experience or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (waterfall and agile)
Using test management tools and version control tools (e.g. HP ALM, Version Manager, etc.)
Developing test requirements, test plans, test strategies, and test objectives based on user stories, requirements, and/or specifications
Developing test analysis reports, which include test results, metrics, errors and defect
Analyzing complex logic flows for interactive applications and mobile devices
Creating traceability matrices of requirements, user stories and test cases, as required
Creating test scenarios, test scripts, use cases, and user stories based on requirements and specifications
Validating test results to ensure accuracy and completeness
Creating test data to simulate test scenarios
Executing test cases, test scripts, use cases, and user stories
Conducting manual testing and regression testing
Developing and executing automated test scripts
Enhancing automated test scripts using Visual Basic Scripting (VB) or other scripting tool
Writing SQL statements and performing database queries using SQL
Viewing and updating Oracle tables to support test scenarios
Testing web-based GUI systems
Testing automated questionnaires on a PC, laptop, and/or mobile devices such as Android and IOS
Conducting quality control using statistical sampling techniques and statistical concepts
Using standard office software packages (e.g., Excel, Word, Access etc.)
Working in high pressure production environment
Programming languages such as:
Oracle 11g or higher
PL/SQL,
SQL (ANSI)
Preferred
Certified Software Tester (CSTE) Certification or equivalent

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

May be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
