Member of Technical Staff

Responsibilities:

Design, and development software for the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform. Design and develop services for providing distributed, scalable, secure, and easy-to-use Virtual Machine (VM) and AHV hypervisor control planes.

Develop a deep understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions for customer requirements

Develop expertise in multiple areas of the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) management, specifically focusing on Scheduler service. This component is largely responsible for scaling and managing compute resources;

Initial workload placement

Dynamic load balancing

Providing High Availability guarantees

VM mobility within and across clusters

Horizontally Scalable Control Plane for AHV Virtual Machine Management.

Define and maintain a very high product quality bar by owning the content from inception to delivery.

The candidate must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently, respect differences and can maintain professionalism under various circumstances.

Requirements:

Detailed oriented with strong focus on code and product quality

The passion & ability to learn new things, while never being satisfied with the status quo

Solid understanding of operating systems and hypervisor concepts.

Love of programming - excellent at Golang, Python, and/or C for enterprise quality software development.

Solid understanding of debugging techniques in a distributed environment.

Interest or experience working with virtualization technologies from VMware, Microsoft (Hyper-V), or Redhat (KVM) preferred                                                                                                             

Qualifications and Experience:

 Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field.

5-8 years of overall experience in building and shipping production-grade services.

San Jose (Hybrid 2-3 days in the office)

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $120,000 and $238,900/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
