Description
The Manager, Software Quality Testing thoroughly evaluates the software products according to the business standards or function requirements. The Manager, Software Quality Testing works within specific guidelines and procedures; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines approach, resources, schedules and goals.
Responsibilities
The Manager, Software Quality Testing isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects and verifies fixes. Develops test data and procedures for ensuring the software products meet organization standards and end-user requirements. Very familiar with the software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies. Decisions are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving own departmental area. Requires cross departmental collaboration, and conducts briefings and area meetings; maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department.
This position is for Enclara Pharmacia, a Humana company. Enclara, is a wholly owned hospice and palliative care pharmacy business aquired by Humana in 2021. Enclara is the nation's largest full-service pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) specifically for the hospice and palliative care sectors. Serving over 450 customers and nearly 100,000 patients nationally, Enclara works closely with hospices to reduce pharmacy costs, improve patient care and support caregivers through: digital innovations, flexible medication access, one-on-one clinical support, and excellent customer service.
This role will have the unique opportunity to shape the software testing strategy of a fast paced, agile development team. Reporting to the Director of Software Development you will have the opportunity to be a decision maker and influencer on all things related to software quality. You will manage and build your team with the staff needed to assure the utmost quality in every product we deliver. With a major focus on testing automation and API testing you will get to work with the latest testing tools on the market.
Summary:
The Mgr Software Quality Assurance will oversee the day-to-day activities of the QA team including mentoring and training. The manager, QA will also test select IT projects
This will entail a thorough understanding of functional requirements, documenting test cases and outcomes, and working closely with business analysts, members of the software development team, and other technical and business personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinates with vendors, QA analysts, and customers to ensure that testing is accurate and timely.
Monitors the daily activities of the quality assurance team, eliminate productivity roadblocks and report project progress to senior management
Oversee and coordinate with offshore QA contractors
Oversee and/or provide new hire training to new QA analysts
Performs general managerial duties (hiring, timecards, performance reviews, etc)
Assists with triaging and investigating technical support issues as needed.
Attends and participates in project meetings during the testing process and as needed.
Provides required documentation and follows established procedures for regulatory compliance.
Assists in the documentation of software change management process and development of release schedule
Qualifications:

Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle process, concepts, and paradigms
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in a science or management-related discipline, or equivalent technology and/or pharmacy experience
Plus 3-5 years experience in performing software quality assurance, with at least 1 year of experience with leading a team or project
Healthcare quality assurance experience preferred, pharmacy system experience highly desired.
Project management certification or training a plus.
Computer Skills:
Experience with quality assurance and defect tracking
Practical knowledge of HTML, SQL, and programming fundamentals
Experience with creating, editing and implementing test scripts preferred
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
