SUMMARY

Bering Straits Information Technology, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Network/Hardware Support Technician - Production Control Specialist - Special Projects in Washington, DC. This position will manage all aspects of PC production to include ordering, imaging and shipping. Manage all aspects of logistical support for assigned programs. Manage all aspects of procurement support for assigned program. Manage various special projects including all domestic sites and various overseas projects as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and design drawings for various projects at DOS facilities.

Ensure all tickets related to PC production, logistics, procurement, and domestic installations are acted on promptly, effectively and closed promptly with accuracy.

Provide direct and timely support to the HST and/or DS Command Centers, as may be needed.

Supervise technicians and logistics personnel to achieve program objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Ten (10) to Fifteen (15) years of experience in audiovisual systems, electrical infrastructure, and network infrastructure

Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret level security clearance.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Possess a solid working knowledge of computers and computer networks

Experience reviewing designs, and possess a solid understanding of the TCP/IP protocol

Preferred

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical agility test (PAT) and annually thereafter as prescribed by the government.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities are required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
