Description
Humana is seeking a Lead Application Architect that designs and develops IT applications using architectural solutions that solve business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
The successful candidate will work on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
The Lead Application Architect will design technical solutions and provide technical leadership to the team.

Responsibilities:
Define project-level application architectures in line with business area guidelines and strategies.Selects and designs tools that allow reuse of design components and patterns for projects.
Develops actual working solutions or prototypes based on their own designs and resolves any issues that arise.
Define detailed technical designs usable by project team Engineers
Containerized workload using Docker or Kubernetes
Leads multiple initiatives with a variety of teams, providing guidance and oversight of both design and execution.
Review code developed by Developers to ensure code is consistent with architecture design.
Troubleshoots, recommends and executes action plans for issue resolution.
Provide day-to-day technical direction to project team while also prioritizing and resolving technical issues affecting the deliverables, escalating technical issues when required.
Facilitates project handoffs including preparing documentation, educating and supporting to ensure smooth transitions.
Influences and adheres to enterprise architecture standards, ensuring integration technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization and contributing to architecture strategy-setting.
Continually works to enhance breadth and depth of knowledge and experience .Work with Business, support or development teams in recommending process or system enhancements, including those that would minimize maintenance costs.
Required Qualifications
15 years of experience in a lead software engineering/architect function in support of customer-facing and internal application
Extensive hands-on experience with both frontend and backend technologies including: Microservices architecture, Serverless technology, AWS, Cloud-native storage, React and NodeJs, and Java
You have the ability to maintain a high level view as well as the ability to get into the details as needed on initiatives to help teams prioritize goals so that they can work most effectively, through weekly meetings and daily communication
Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
Experience with Java, JEE, JSP, jQuery, Spring, Spring Boot (Microservices), Rest Services, Spring JPA, REST, JSON, JUnit, JavaScript, REACT, TypeScript and XML
Ability to effectively communicate, influence and drive consensus between the business, technology teams and executive leadership in an organization with multiple lines of business
Expert knowledge of the Agile methodologies
Ability to consider QA and Security needs as part of the overall architecture of a system
Containerized workload using Docker or Kubernetes
Experience with developing highly scalable and always available applications on large-scale distributed databases.
Experience architecting and designing container frameworks used to run microservices or data processing workloads with tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability.
Proficiency using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio.

Additional Information
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Work-At-Home Requirements
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
