Job Description
Overview of the Role:
Responsible for leading network wide design and technical approach for network evolution and new products. Serves as a technical lead for new product integration across Comcast's converged IP Network. Influences and creates strategic standards according to industry standard across Transport and IP Layer (IETF, User Forums, MEF, OIF, etc.). Accountable for the adoption and integration strategy of emerging standards into the infrastructure in order to drive emerging technologies that reduce costs, increase flexibility and drive better scale across Comcast Infrastructure. Responsible for the thorough architecture, design, beta and launch of new integrated voice, video and data products across Converged Network and the evolution of the network to enhance capabilities and operational effectiveness of infrastructure.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Expert-level understanding of network components/protocols: RIB vs FIB, Life of packet, ISIS, BGP, MPLS (SR highly desirable), QOS, etc...
Able to solve complex network problems. Multicast experience highly desired.
Must have programming experience to automate networking tasks using one of the following languages: Python, GO, Ruby, Perl. Python and GO are a plus
Able to translate complex networking tasks into machine understandable steps
Experience with one of the following NoSQL Database structures: MongoDB or ArangoDB
Experience with automated deployment concepts demonstrating Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is a plus
Able to excel in high pressure situations.
Day to Day operations for this role:
Coordinating and completing network changes for tech refresh or new tech introduction. Applicant is expected to be able to perform work and lead the project that the same time. Some days may be coordinating with adjacent teams on order of operations/priorities. Other days may be spent drafting/reviewing/implementing the changes necessary to complete a task within the program.
Complex changes are implemented overnight during a maintenance window.
Critical issues from Incident management or DevOps.
Support our Network Monitoring System by enhancing the ruleset that triggers action within the Incident Management team.
Help shape the future or our critical applications.
About the TEAM:
CIT (Core Integration Team) provides technical leadership for the entire national metro network footprint. They peer heavily with Network Design to help harden new standard deployments. The team owns the HW lifecycle of all aggregation layer devices within each of these networks, 28 across the nation. In addition, everyone on the team is expected to understand and define the requirements for improving our most critical network support applications.
Pay Scale: Pay range is $110,152.02 - $258,168.80

Pay Range: $151,459.03 - $227,188.55
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
