BMS is in the process of establishing an Enterprise wide Data Governance and Data Management certification capability to deliver accelerated value from data while minimizing risk from a host of data dimensions and perspectives including privacy, sensitive data, regulatory used data, etc. in achieving organization’s strategic priorities. In this effort, we are looking for a Enterprise Data Governance and Data Management Certification Head, to lead an enterprise wide transformation effort in re-imagining data governance and right-sizing data management certification processes that will allow us to accelerate innovation with digital and data. This role will be crucial in leading efforts to mature an enterprise wide data governance organization, framework and processes across the composite combined company Digital landscape and will rely extensively on partnerships fostered with functional and business unit leadership teams.
Responsibilities:
Define information and data management framework, policy, procedures and work instructions in partnership with IT and cross functional enterprise stakeholders
Lead key data governance initiatives:
End-to-end to DQ in Clinical Development
Crown Jewels
Principles of Data Integrity
Third Party Risk Management
BMS Top 10 Data Issues Campaign
Accountable for elevating the enterprise data literacy and training via the CDO Data School / University
Define and facilitate data governance councils and data advisory groups
Define information and data management framework, policy, procedures and work instructions in partnership with IT and cross functional enterprise stakeholders
Define a data management certification capability (metrics, processes & reporting) for the enterprise in partnership with Quality, Audit, Compliance and Legal.
Execute an annual assessment with relevant cross functional partnerships
Synthesize the key assessment outcomes to be reported at the enterprise level to report to various committees including Internal Audit, Global Quality and
Facilitate identification of material data defects, issues and risks by data domains and triage to the Data Remediation and IMR organization
Partner with the Data Capability Groups (DCGs) for Enabling Functions to digitize the reporting of the certification outcomes.
Key Competencies:
Required:
2 years’ experience in Data Governance teams embedded in Technology/IT or Functions.
10 years’ experience in an information technology or functional data management related field within the life sciences industry.
10 years’ experience in information technology designing, implementing, and/or supporting analytic platforms related activities satisfying complex information needs.
Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) and Reference Data Management (RDM).
Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:
2 years in Data functions in LS/Pharm or Healthcare industry vertical.
Experience deploying Data and Analytic Platforms in a Cloud and On-Premise environment.
Experience working with international clients with a globally dispersed team.
Other Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
