ENSCO, Inc., is seeking a Mid-level Software Engineer to be part of a dynamic team, based in Melbourne, FL or Springfield, VA, working on a cutting-edge program in support of national security objectives. Candidates should be versed in software development standards, processes, and methodologies. Individual must work independently on tasks but collaboratively with DoD stakeholders, to design, implement, test, and deploy solutions for complex customer problems. The work is mission critical and involves solving real-world problems.The Wearables program is a development program for hardware and software end-to-end iterative development to address the JPEO CWMD office CBRN Wearables objectives, comprised in part of the use of wearables technologies in order to detect physiological stressors at an individual level, and overall force readiness at a macro level. At the conclusion of the first development iteration, the system will be comprised of TRL 9 components (i.e., sensors, communications and network devices, computers and edge computing devices, cloud-based repositories and algorithms), which are integrated by the ENSCO-developed FAILSAFES software. The entire FAILSAFES Proof-of-Concept system will be delivered to internal as well as customer-sponsored field testing, with the system being demonstrated in a mission relevant environment. The candidate should be familiar with integration of medical record data and other physiological data for decision support. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND). The ideal candidate will be familiar with the JPEO CBRND overall missions, and specifically familiar with integration of wearable capabilities which can be integrated into a single system to meet mission objectives.Tasks include: Design, develop, prototype, test, and document wearable capabilitiesDevelop algorithms and/or integrate developmental, commercial, and Government off-the-shelf wearable technologiesDevelop interfaces with joint cloud services to transmit raw wearable sensor data to cloud-hosted environments, and applications for smart phone devicesDevelop and document scalable architectures to transport data from wearable hardware to AI/ML capabilitiesBachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field3 years of software engineering experience Experience developing interfaces to integrate technologies in a cloud environment and necessary for algorithmic processing of sensor dataSkilled in developing applications for Android mobile devices Must have strong understanding of software development processes and standardization including DevOps environments and CI/CD Pipeline Development, Testing and Integration.Experience working directly with industry to establish standards and other data products that enable interoperability between mobile devices and AI/ML algorithm capabilitiesAt least 3 years’ experience with the following languages / tools / environments:Android application architecture, design and development.Mobile development frameworksMobile application development tools and environments In-depth experience with application and user interface level using at least one mobile application development languageKnowledge & experience in Web Services (XML, JSON, WCF)Git – or other software version control systemExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable working in a team.Excellent time management skills.Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldAtlassian Confluence and Jira experienceExperience with Apache Kafka or other messaging software#LI-WL1The National Security Solutions (NSS) Division focuses on solutions for the toughest problems in defense, intelligence, and homeland security missions.
