invites applications for a
Classroom Tech Specialist
to join their team. The Classroom Tech Specialist provides multimedia and video conferencing installation, maintenance and support services to the faculty, staff, and student users of audio/video instructional equipment located at UM. The position requires deep technical expertise and is responsible for researching, recommending, installing, and maintaining a wide range of technologies including computers, room control systems, audio mixers, microphones, document cameras, and other multimedia devices.
The Classroom Tech Specialist is expected to work independently and be proactive in keeping complex technical systems and A/V equipment operational through good record keeping, maintenance, and replacement. The Classroom Tech Specialist is responsible for providing information, training, and solutions to technical problems regarding UM installed A/V equipment. They are expected to provide excellent customer support, ticket tracking, and billing records.

Supervisory and organizational skills
Ability to lift and carry computer/AV equipment (25-35 pounds), which requires mobility and physical demands.
The position requires the manual dexterity to take apart a computer and AV equipment to perform maintenance/repair, which requires mobility and physical demands.
Minimum Required Experience
Associate’s degree in a related field OR four (4) years of A/V technical work experience in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education.
