Humana's Pharmacy Org is seeking a Senior Software engineer who is self-motivated, Tech savvy, curious and loves the challenge of solving problems that improve people's lives. You'll collaborate with a fun and close-knit agile team to architect, implement, test, and continuously deliver new features and products to our customers.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and support of our Humana Pharmacy applications

You'll apply your JAVA and distributed systems competencies to the improvement of existing products and the development of new software.

Participating in design and code reviews to maintain our high development standards

Ensure high quality software through adherence to Test Driven Development (TDD) as the foundation of development and enabling CI/CD and DevSecOps practices

A proven team player, you'll have the opportunity to provide hands-on leadership while taking an active role in collaborative assessments and design

Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Angular, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of cloud tools and services

Troubleshoots business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, possible root cause); engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues; formulating an action plan; performing actions as designated in the plan; interpreting the results to determine further action; performs root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues; and completing online documentation

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

10 years of Java full stack software development on web and client/server solutions

6 years of experience with Java, JEE, JSP, jQuery, spring, Spring Boot (Micro services), Rest Services, Spring JPA, REST, JSON, JUnit, JavaScript, and XML

Experience with Spring Boot Framework, JMS, SOAP and REST web services

5 years of experience working with J2EE Framework components such as Servlets, JSP, JDBC, Logging mechanism (ex. Log4J), Transaction Management and Thread Management

4 years of experience writing SQL/Functions/Procedures in transactional database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2

Deep understanding of developing Web-services, HTML UI, CSS and JavaScript

Experience with Eclipse IDE and Spring Framework

Understanding of Containerization concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with GitHub and/or GitLab, SonarQube, JUnit, Spring Boot Skilled in writing, designing unit test cases using TDD and BDD methodologies

Experience in JPA, Docker, Kubernetes or similar technologies is a significant plus

Experience designing and developing cloud solutions using AWS, Azure or Google is a significant plus

Experience in Apache Kafka

Experience in Angular or React

Experience in Docker and Kubernetes

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
