The Deer Park Refinery is one of the largest production facilities in the Gulf Coast, supporting the energy needs of many communities. The refinery is embarking upon a digital transformation journey, looking to transform into a Refinery of the Future, to continue supporting these communities in a cleaner, safer, and more efficient way.
The IT Manager Deer Park will play a pivotal role in creating a vision for this Refinery of the Future. The role will be accountable for working with the refinery leaders, the digital team, and the wider organization to create and then execute an IT and digital roadmap that delivers innovative technologies to the site.
To truly harvest value from these innovative technologies though, the IT Manager will also have to ensure that the refinery has secure and reliable IT operations. This will range from having infrastructure services that meet customer expectations, to having the right cyber-security capability for the site, and many other accountabilities in between.
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-me basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's degree in information technology, mathematics, computer science, or a related field is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
Minimum 10 years of relevant of experience is required.
Substantial IT experience across the IT stack and knowledge of digital technologies
IT Management and team management experience
Proven change management skills
Ability to build solid collaborative partnerships with senior business stakeholders
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Leads business stakeholder engagements with refinery leaders and teams
Supervises the site IT team, ensuring delivery of capability through a wider organization
Integrated IT and Business Strategy
Demonstrates art of the possible with technology and data
Shapes and guides technology investment decision-making, fully aligning choices to business priorities
Owns the IT Strategic Plan for the site
Value Generation & Protection
Balances value generation from new investments with value harvesting from existing assets
Builds compelling and robust business cases. Drives clarity of investment cost (OPEX/CAPEX), and defines IT performance metrics, measurements, and benefits.
IT Services and Operations Management
Runs and maintains the information technology and computer systems and provide IT services the organisation needs
Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems
IT Portfolio Management
Drives the Portfolio to consider innovative ways of reducing cost and harvesting additional business benefit from the existing technology
Takes accountability for the delivery of safe, reliable, secure, and affordable operations by the IT portfolio in line with Service Level Agreements.
