Job Description

A Lead Solution Architect acts a liaison between Business Partners & IT Delivery leads. The primary accountability is understanding the business problem to solve, providing technology thought leadership and collaborating with IT Delivery Partners through deliverables like Conceptual Architectures, Technology Platform Evaluations, and Technology Roadmaps. This role will lead the solution architecture for the Master Data Management solutioning and transformation at Humana.

Experienced in driving and leading Technology Vendor Evaluation Process

Person will influence and set technical direction, Provide architectural strategies & solutions, assessments and road maps.

Collaborate with product owners to understand functional requirements and interact with other cross-functional teams to provide solution architect expertise.

Contribute to and lead the build vs buy decisions from a technical leader perspective in collaboration with the business & delivery leaders.

Communicate and present technical aspects, risks, challenges, and selling points of a solution to IT and Business partners.

Develop and advise on standards, best practices, and reference designs for the implementation of solutions

Champion the implementation of DevOps, Quality and Security processes (Continuous Integration, Automated Builds, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Automated Testing, Automated Security Scans through certified build and release pipelines)

With minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment and decision-making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and on matters requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action

Identify, evaluate and assess risks to mitigate them and eliminate any factor that might hinder the successful delivery of a solution

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

8 years of progressive information technology experience directly related to architecture/engineering

Experience delivering platform and product architecture for enterprise scale solutions in Azure and GCP cloud environments.

Understanding of full tech stack & proven experience with architectural design patterns including micro services, APIs & event-driven data flows.

Skilled with broad, conceptual understanding of the technology architecture trends and direction coupled with demonstrated technical mastery in the MDM space

Ability to influence teams & business partners to a future state with a focus on incremental value.

End-to end implementation of enterprise MDM solution (highly preferable)

Experience in integrating heterogeneous systems to MDM real-time, near real-time & batch implementations

Relational Database Architecture (SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL) experience

Experience with one or more NoSQL technology (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J, Couchbase, CouchDB, Hadoop HDFS, HBase, Hive, etc.)

Experience with implementation of Event driven architecture using Kafka, Spark or similar technologies

Experience authoring reference architectures and other engineering documentation

Preferred Qualifications

Prior solution architecture or enterprise architecture experience

Work-At-Home Requirements

WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated (preferred) or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.
