IT@UC seeks to fill a departmental position for a Software Applications Developer I. This position’s primary responsibility will be managing the Federated Authentication services for the University of Cincinnati (UC). The primary technology implemented is a Shibboleth Identity Provider (IdP) hosted on Linux Servers. A smaller component is ADFS 4 hosted on Windows servers. The position must possess the technical ability to work with a Shibboleth IdP and the communication skills to work with the over two hundred Service Providers (SPs) that UC is federated with. Both the Shibboleth IdP and ADFS use the SAML standard for exchanging authentication and authorization data between parties.
The position will also support other Linux servers and integration batch jobs, mostly using Microsoft’s SSIS. The primary scripting language used in the SSIS packages is the C# language in the .NET ecosystem. Ability to write and understand SQL queries used in SSIS packages is beneficial.
Primary Responsibilities:
*Configuring and maintaining the UC Shibboleth Identity Provider *Configuring and maintaining the UC ADFS Identity Provider *Supporting the operation of the UC Shibboleth Identity Provider Linux servers and assisting with other Linux servers in the Integration Services team *Communicating with 3rd parties, both inside and outside of UC, to federate with their new SPs and maintaining integrations with existing SPs *Resolving trouble tickets related to UC Federated Authentication *Writing documentation for both internal use and knowledge base articles *Other integration batch and scripting jobs as needed, especially using Microsoft SSIS *Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with other team members
Minimum Qualifications:
*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related degree; -OR- an Associate’s degree with two (2) years’ of experience; or four (4) years of basic to intermediate level computer hardware related experience. *Possesses working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures and contributes through support, using established processes, methods, and systems.

*Experience managing and supporting a Shibboleth Identity Provider *Experience using Linux *Experience managing an ADFS environment *Knowledge of the following technical skills:
*SAML *C# and .Net *SQL queries *Source control, especially git
*Ability to work as a project team member, or independently on projects *Excellent communication and team skills with the proven ability to multitask *Solid interpersonal skills, with ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships *Ability to participate in rotational on-call support
