Description
The Principal Cloud Architect owns and defines strategy to design, implement, and operate a secure and scalable cloud infrastructure. As a part of the Humana Government Business team, this individual will lead the path forward to a building a cloud environment that meets government security requirements.
Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.
Responsibilities
The Principal Cloud Architect performs complex application mapping, along with cloud security, cloud networking and infrastructure analysis to independently identify technical solutions that meet the desired operating and security requirements. This role works closely with Cloud Architects, Cloud Engineers, Software Engineers, and Technology Leadership to design secure products, validate product designs and implementations against defined standards and security controls.
Responsibilities include:
Lead planning, design, and hands on implementation of enterprise-level cloud infrastructure platforms.
Lead the design, implementation and support the operations of automated, highly resilient, self-healing cloud infrastructure with security embedded at every component and capability.
Oversee the development, adoption, and evolution of cloud architecture standards and best practices to ensure architectures are secure, resilient, scalable, and automated.
Partner with Business Segment Leadership to influence the prioritization of cloud automation and security throughout the product development lifecycle.
Mentor cloud and software engineers to mature cloud-native skills and promote a culture of secure-by-design.
Evangelize the adoption of cloud architecture standards and best practices.
Act as the principal advisor on cybersecurity matters, and protection, detection and threat prevention capabilities.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Information Protection, and other enterprise stakeholders to facilitate bidirectional exchange of insights discovered from test and learn activities and production operations.
Lead user empathy sessions with engineers and manage capability roadmap to make it easy for engineers to rapidly introduce changes into a production environment while fulfilling all compliance requirements.
Knowledge base for this role:
Expert in cloud native design, cloud security principals and operations, hands on work experience with secure automation pipelines, secure API management and secure coding practices
Expert level work experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible etc.) and CI/CD pipelines.
Extensive experience with security infrastructure and application monitoring, event management solution (Azure Monitor, Etc..)
Detailed understanding of identity management principles & technologies, experience with implementation of identity and access management solutions (Azure AD/AD, SSO, SAML, Auth0)
Hands on experience with certificate, credential and secrets management and integration of these to cloud operations and development pipelines
Experience with defining, monitoring and improving cloud configuration management controls
Experience solution level architecture for data storage using Azure resources like Azure Data Lake, Cosmos DB, Azure Blob Storage
Provide expertise for data Ingestion, Transformation and Load using Azure resources like Azure SQL database, SQL Data Warehouse, Data Factory, Databricks and Azure Stream Analytics.
Good understanding and ability to use scripting languages in daily tasks to leverage automation
Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders (technical and non-technical)
Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., NIST security, privacy, HIPAA, etc.)
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
8 or more years of experience in infrastructure/network security by designing, installing, configuring and administering network infrastructure and security systems
3 or more years hands on leadership experience in cloud architecture or cloud security and related cloud infrastructure projects in Google Cloud, Azure or AWS
Our Department of Defense Contract requires U.S. citizenship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional level certifications from one or more cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Hands-on experience with implementing cloud native solutions on Google Cloud and Azure.
