Desktop Engineer

Profile

We are seeking a Desktop Engineer to provide technical support while also being a good listener and problem solver.  Primary responsibilities include review of desktop vulnerabilities, testing and deployment of patches and software for all endpoint devices, and troubleshooting hardware, software and application installs. This role will have ownership of all monitoring, troubleshooting, and installation of software/patching/tools over multiple operating systems and will plan/coordinate deployments to all endpoints enterprise-wide.

 

Responsibilities:

*Creating, testing and deploying software images for endpoint devices *Remediating failed SCCM package/application installs *Troubleshooting software and hardware issues *Developing and implementing Software Update Schedule including patch management and software distribution tools to ensure updates are rolled out in a timely manner *Ensuring security updates are up to date for all endpoints. *Listening to users explain their computer issues, identify the problem and communicate solution while keeping users informed and updated at all times *Identifying business impact of upgrading software to latest patched version *Working with application owners on remediation of vulnerable software *Generating reports for hardware and software inventories, new or aged vulnerabilities etc. *Keeping track of all work assigned and ability to provide daily updates to management *Provide after hours support when necessary

Qualifications:

*Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology *At least 2 years of Desktop Engineering with SCCM experience (advanced knowledge of patch management and software distribution) *Experience designing, deploying, managing, and configuring virtual and physical workstation environments using Windows 10 with Microsoft SCCM. *Experience with enterprise desktop deployments and management, including application package development and enterprise system refreshes. *Ability to create and manage profiles, manage apps and create compliance rules using SCCM. *Ability to solve complex hardware and software issues *Experience administering in an Active Directory environment *Knowledge of and experience with Office 365 Administration, and client applications. *JAMF MAC management software *Good written and verbal skills. Ability to communicate moderately difficult technical matters to internal customers. *Excellent interpersonal skills
