Job Summary
As a DevOps Engineer on the CDN Analytics team you’ll be using tools like Ansible and Python to engineer solutions for infrastructure and application deployment related issues. You’ll be bridging the gap between sys admin and developer as you work to move our infrastructure support and automation to the next level.
Job Description
The Analytics DevOps team is a small and fast-moving team of world-class experts who are innovating to provide a robust platform serving our IP Video delivery customers, both internal and external. We are a team that thrives on big challenges, results, quality, and agility. We work with network engineers, systems administrators, software engineers, product managers. The Analytics DevOps team is a diverse collection of software engineers, systems administrators, network administrators, and configuration managers from all walks of life. We’re a group of experienced technical minds who are the last word when it comes to solving problems encountered by our production support teams.
In your role, you will bridge the gap between development/engineering for production support. Develop innovative ways to perform upgrades, deployments in production to scale out our analytics infrastructure for CDN growth across Comcast's/Syndication Partner's footprint. As DevOps Engineer, your mission will be to stay on top of planned maintenances and drive solutions to reduce downtime and manual maintenance effort. Create new metrics and identify monitoring solutions to improve site and services. Success in this role is characterized by a higher speed to market, with fewer customer-facing defects and outages.
Responsibilities:
Perform upgrades and deployments to production
Identify root cause and deliver solutions with permanent fix for production incidents
Scale/Manage a large Kubernetes infrastructure
Deliver innovative proactive self-healing capabilities
Develop automated deployment solution through CI/CD
Work independently as part of an agile team
Investigate new technologies to improve operational efficiency
Enable team to successfully achieve service level objectives in terms of high availability, capacity growth and maintaining performance of overall CDN platform
Provide 24x7 on-call support for production incidents

Preferred Skills:
Strong understanding of Networking Concepts - TCP/IP, DHCP basic routing
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible )
Experience with a variety of programming languages including, but not limited to: Go, Perl, Python, Shell/Bash, Groovy
Version Control using GitHub
Strong understanding of content delivery network through use of forward/reverse proxies and caching hierarchies
Familiarity with Distributed databases, OP5/Nagios, Kafka, Grafana, InfluxDB
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering and some professional work experience or equivalent work experience.
About the CDN Team:
The CDN team is a fun fast-paced team within Comcast’s (VIPER) Video IP and Engineering Research group. Our office is based in Denver’s LoDo district. Our technology is open-source based, and our products deliver video and other content over IP infrastructure to an array of connected devices in and out of the home.

Salary:
Pay Range: $89,135.07 - $133,702.61
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
