Join the Clinical IT development organization, a part of Technology Solutions, as we pioneer and refine our Carehub clinical platform in alignment with Humana's Healthcare Services segment to benefit clinicians and the members they serve.
Play a key role in the evolution of our technical strategy & road-map, team dynamics, and delivery planning. Partner with Clinical Technology & Capabilities, solutions architects, and other key stakeholders to translate business needs into high performing software solutions that are forward-thinking, scalable, robust, and add value for business operations and members.
The Senior Scrum Master leads an agile development team, ensures all activities use the principles of the Scrum Framework. The Senior Scrum Master work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
The Scrum Master will ensure that the development teams follows scrum framework and agile practices, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, facilitating meetings and decision-making processes, and eliminating team impediments.
The Scrum master will use agile and waterfall practices to effectively manage the development teams. The Scrum Master should have excellent interpersonal, project management and problem-solving skills and know how to manage people, timelines and technologies in order make sure the development team effectively delivers new capabilities in coordination with the business team
Responsibilities
The Senior Scrum Master leads teams through work actions that can be completed within iterations and tracks progress through Agile processes and ceremonies. Provides input for department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
You will have the opportunity to work with other Scrum Masters, Architects and Developers across many Humana systems and partner with our business support partners on creating requirements to advance the system.
Manage development team scopes and timelines.
Determining and managing tasks, issues, risks, and action items.
Be the representative of the IT manager / Director on the development team daily activities.
Work with business product owners to handle backlogs and new requests.
Coordinate sprints, retrospective meetings and stand-ups.
Be the point of contact for external team communications (e.g. from customers or external team / department)
Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration.
Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur.
Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint
Using agile and waterfall methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions.
Leading development teams through a complex development solutions
Effectively remove roadblocks for the development team to achieve delivery
Support implementation of process improvements to develop a high performance development team
Protecting the team from scope increase during sprints
Ensuring focus on committed to stories when competing priorities arise
Facilitating productive conversation that arrive at high value delivery
Proactively participating in pre-planning and planning sessions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience with the SDLC
Excellent communication skills, leadership competencies, and high level of emotional intelligence
5 years' experience working in an Agile Scrum environment as a Scrum Master
Experience in working in multi-team environment
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Excellent people and project management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Enthusiasm and motivation essential; a confident change-agent
Preferred Qualifications
Technical documentation abilities
Advanced knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban development methodology
Working knowledge of Agile Project Management Tools
Previous experience planning and managing large projects
Prior experience in the health solutions industry
Working experience with IT teams
SAFE Product Owner, Scrum Master, or SAFE Program Consultant certification

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work.
