Position Summary

A Sr. Application Developer at RoundPoint collaborates with the business, fellow developers, and other IT groups and is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable software solutions. The Sr. Application Developer is also responsible for gathering technical requirements and building relationships with the business. This position requires broad technical expertise across multiple platforms, operating systems and tools with a focus on cloud native application development. The candidate must possess an understanding of various disciplines and technologies, such as web development, identity management, security, databases, networking, and infrastructure. This is a senior-level position that will serve as a team lead and mentor to more junior engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy new systems, applications, and features with a focus on rapidly delivering value to our customers.

Be a team player that participates in sprint planning, demo days, peer code reviews, and proof of concepts.

Have solid and polished communication skills. Have an ability to succinctly convey complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience. Provide technical and solution documentation for new and existing applications.

Possess time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision inside a high tempo environment.

Always be learning. Maintain continuing education and proficiency in new technologies and software engineering trends.

Be familiar with modern software development frameworks and methodologies such as Agile, DevOps, and SRE.

Be familiar with common software development principles such as SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI.

Be familiar with common software security standards such as CIS Top 20, OWASP top 10, and risk-based threat mitigation.

Provide guidance on coding, re-factoring, root cause analysis and feature design best practices.

Perform software and data analysis to uncover issues and solve complicated problems that typically span multiple systems.

Create database schemas that represent and support business processes.

Review, analyze, and create solutions by utilizing RoundPoint’s cloud environment:

Compute: Virtual Machines, Docker containers, Kubernetes, Managed apps, and serverless functions.

Data & Storage: SQL Database, DocumentDB, Redis Cache, Blobs, Tables, Queues, Files and Disks

Identity & Access Management: Azure Active Directory, Azure B2C, OAuth, RBAC, MFA

Office and Developer Services: Microsoft 365, Jira, Azure DevOps, and Git

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or other technical field with 5 years of applicable experience in a technology environment. Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

6 years overall industry experience in design and development

3 years of experience with designing, building and supporting database systems.

2 years of experience with Azure Cloud

Must have extensive working experience with Microsoft technologies

Application migration from legacy mode to services and microservices

Experience with communicating with business to gather requirements and convert them into technical requirements

Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud and .NET architecture

Sound experience with static or dynamically typed object-oriented languages such as C#, Python, or Javascript

Deep knowledge of MS-SQL and/or NoSQL

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge and experience with agile development

Strong understanding of Application Lifecycle Management

Desired

Understanding of the Microsoft Azure Cloud: MS Azure Security & Identity services (i.e. Azure Active Directory, Domain Services, Azure Security Center, Azure Governance)

User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments including OAuth and JWT

Knowledge of the Node.js JavaScript runtime or other language equivalent

Experience with mobile architecture is a plus.
