UI/UX Designer - Business Intelligence
We are looking for a UI/UX Designer to partner with our Data Engineers and internal customers to design reporting visualizations that empower the business to make data-driven decisions. The UI/UX Designer will be part of the Data & Business Intelligence team supporting the company’s Go-to-Market (Sales & Marketing) functions.
In this role, you will seek to understand the underlying needs of our business stakeholders to strategically influence layout and design choices to ensure the end result is both beautiful and functional. You will be balancing both urgent, time-sensitive requests as well as projects supporting longer-term, strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities / What You Will Be Doing
Work alongside a team of fellow UI Designers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and Developers
Partner with internal customers to understand, organize, and document business requirements
Transform internal customer requirements into intuitive reporting visualizations that are effective at communicating clear KPIs and actionable insights to audiences at different levels across the organization
Design the front-end user experience for self-service data analytics and performance management dashboards
Follow an iterative wireframe design process to incorporate stakeholder feedback to simplify and refine designs
Deliver wireframe designs in Figma and/or Adobe’s Creative Suite for hand off to Tableau developers
Drive customer research and data analysis to improve user experience and adoption
Develop data driven infographics, documentation, and other digital assets for the team
Serve as the team’s BI asset librarian; enabling the organization to quickly find the reports/data assets they are looking for via our internal website/portal
Proactively seek stakeholder feedback for iterative improvements across all assets
Promote data-driven decision making across the organization
Qualifications / What You Bring To The Table
Degree in User Experience - UI/UX, Human Computer Interaction - HCI, Visual Communication, Frontend Development, or similar digital design experience in related fields
3-5 years of UI, UX, or front-end design and development experience
Portfolio of visual design ability; including the end result as well as the design process including wireframes, study plans, etc
Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical audiences at varying levels across the organization
A passion for working with data
Ability to thrive in a virtual, team-oriented environment and can work well on collaborative and independent projects
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Highly Preferred Experiences
Understanding of Tableau or similar BI visualization tools such as Power BI, Qlik, and Looker (opportunity to learn this on the job if interested)
Understanding of best practices for data charts and tables design
Experience working with Sales and/or Marketing data
Familiarity with SQL & structured databases
Experience using various reporting like hierarchies, filters, level of detail calculations, calculated fields, sets, groups & parameters
