SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

SCDMV SUPPORTS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD OF 15 ORACLE DATABASES. SENIOR ORACLE DATABASE POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRODUCTION DATABASE ENVIRONMENTS RELATED TO SCDMV PHOENIX APPLICATION. THIS POSITION WILL SUPPLEMENT OUR CURRENT SQL DBA FORCE WITH PRODUCTION SUPPORT ACTIVITIES SUCH AS OS UPDATES, SECURITY UPDATES, ETC. AND WILL REQUIRE BEYOND NORMAL HOURS ACTIVITIES.

THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE A LONG TERM, ONGOING ASSIGNMENT. ON-SITE PRESENCE IS REQUIRED THEREFORE REGIONAL CANDIDATES (SC, GA, NC) WILL BE GIVEN PREFERRED PRIORITY.

CANDIDATE WILL BE WORKING IN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT CONSISTING OF 5 DATABASE ENGINEERS AND ADMINISTRATORS AND WORKING DIRECTLY WITH APPLICATION DEVELOPERS, BUSINESS ANALYSTS, AND SERVER SUPPORT TEAM.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Install and configure Oracle Database 19 and future releases on Microsoft Windows.

Install and configure Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) 19 and future releases on Microsoft Windows.

Install and configure Oracle Grid Infrastructure 19 and future releases on Microsoft Windows platform.

Install and configure Oracle Gateway for SQL-Server 19 and future releases.

Configure HAS (High Availability Services) 19 and future releases on Microsoft Windows platform.

Configure and maintain Oracle Active Data Guard for Standby databases.

Configure multiple Oracle listeners for TCPIP filtering, for Oracle Gateway and for security purposes.

Configure and perform Oracle backups using RMAN and DDBoost.

Configure and maintain Data Domain servers.

Schedule and perform Oracle database software upgrades, both in-place and out-of-place.

Schedule and perform Microsoft Windows server upgrades.

Apply Oracle critical patches in a timely fashion via OPatch.

Work in conjunction with Oracle support to find solutions to Oracle software problems.

Work with the server team to assign LUN's to the server, partition them, and add them to ASM as necessary.

Plan storage requirements for future database storage needs based on growth analysis.

Restore databases across versions of Oracle from Production to Non-Prod databases

Create and modify shell scripts.

Create user accounts for Windows Domain based users

Manage multiple Oracle Homes for different Oracle products and different Oracle versions.

Performance tuning of SQL on a live database using ASH, AWR reports and Grid Control.

Develop SQL scripts and PL/SQL applications to supervise the database performance.

Develop SQL scripts and PL/SQL applications to supervise the database storage usage.

Actively monitor and tune Oracle database statistics to ensure maximum performance.

Proactively monitor the database's health and take preventive and corrective action as required.

Design and update the database data model using Toad Data Modeler.

Develop table and index partition methods for large tables.

Control migration of programs, database changes, reference data changes through the development life cycle using TFS DevOps.

Implement and enforce security for the Oracle Databases.

Perform datapump exports and imports as required.

Create and schedule SQL-Loader scripts for nightly imports.

Use Grid control to create and submit jobs in the scheduler.

Write ad-hoc reports as requested by developers/business analysts.

Provide standards to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance.

Provide technical support to application development teams.

Perform the impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.

Provide SQL guidance to business analysts and developers to ensure integrity and performance.
