The Senior IT Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) will serve as the lead member of the IT@UC Project Management Office (PMO) and will report to Associate Vice President Innovation & Partnerships, IT. This position will serve as the leader of the PMO for the university-wide technology project initiatives, following structured PMI methodologies and processes and working closely with other IT@UC team members to ensure that all goals and timelines are achieved. The position will work as a collaborative member of the IT@UC organization and university community. The position will be responsible for partnering closely with the IT@UC Managers and other key stakeholders to maintain a robust portfolio of technology projects.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

*Responsible for the IT@UC project portfolio, ensuring adequate staffing and resources *Responsible for the successful completion of the university-wide technology initiatives *Meets regularly with the PMO staff to ensure distributed project team(s) establish, monitor and maintain project schedules and timelines *Ensures that project artifacts (including status reports, contingency plans, dependencies, risks, issues) to all levels of stakeholders are created, distributed and presented *Ensures that approved methods, processes and tools are consistently used, including change, risk and quality management by all PMO members *Solves difficult problems/issues, resolves conflicts and deals effectively with constituents *Identifies issues, resolutions, risks and mitigations *Develops and maintains relationships with key campus stakeholders and vendors *Partners with the IT@UC Managers to maintain IT policies and procedures to support project activities *Manages staff of the PMO *Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

*Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a relevant degree and two (2) years related experience  -OR- a Bachelor’s degree with four (4) years’ experience –OR- an Associate’s degree with six (6) years’ experience; -OR- eight (8) years’ experience.  *Experience and/or training include advanced level experience and possesses broad and deep knowledge of own area and related areas and contributes through advanced knowledge, skill and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

*Familiar with standard information system development concepts, practices, and procedures. *Experience leading and managing large, complex, multi-year projects in a higher education environment. *Experience managing IT projects with resources from multiple teams as well as external consultants. *Experience working in an Agile environment, managing projects using Agile methodologies such as Scrum desirable. *Experience with the request for proposal (RFP) process, contract negotiations, and managing large budgets. *Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and vice a versa *Able to work with limited supervision and be accountable for actions and decisions. *PMP certification
