The Data Architect is responsible for proactively supporting enterprise architecture activities that create deliverables that guide the direction and strategy to drive key business outcomes related to business intelligence and insights. This role has a deep focus on roadmaps and IT strategies. This role will also provide oversights and direction on how we are approach capabilities related to data engineering, data modeling and other analytical surfacing solutions. Technologies will include Google Cloud Platform and other data applications. Enterprise architects provide the thought leadership, facilitation, analysis and governance of an enterprise's solutions and architecture. In this role, the Enterprise Architect will assist in documenting current state systems landscapes, developing future state strategies and approaches in collaboration with other IT professionals and business subject matter experts. This role is strategic in nature and will focus on strong collaboration and engagement across Tyson Foods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in design and implementation of the governance, assurance and standards activities associated with ensuring enterprise technology architecture compliance.
Partner closely with IT analysts, leadership and business partners to develop the future state IT landscape for Insights.
Collaboratively develop high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state
Research, evaluate, and assist in the selection of hardware and software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standards for key capabilities such as data engineering, data modeling and OLAP solutions.
Collaborate with business constituents, other technology architecture team members, project teams and staff in various IT functional areas as needed to fulfill the responsibilities described above.
Understand, advocate, and augment the IT strategies - and, more specifically, technology architecture development and service delivery for Insights.
Partner closely with other Architects across Tyson to drive solution delivery to a standard set of technologies, patterns and approaches.
REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other Technical areas. Experience: Equivalent experience with 8 years of progressive experience in business or IT environment or advanced degree with 6 years of progressive experience. Must have worked for at least 5 years in supporting Insights, or Business Intelligence, as an IT architect. Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills; assisting with the programming and oversight of complex analytical solutions and/or analyzing and designing complex changes to existing analytical systems; software/ hardware architecture experience and expertise. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Special Skills: Organizationally savvy, with understanding of the political climate of the enterprise and how to navigate obstacles and politics. Ability to balance the long-term (big picture) and short-term implications of individual decisions. Knowledge of information principles and processes. Excellent analytical and technical skills, written and verbal communication skills. Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps) In depth understanding of design patterns and solution development in the Analytics space. Previous experience with a CPG company or within the Food Manufacturing industry is strongly desired.
