invites applications for an
Enterprise Risk Analyst
to join their team. The individual assigned to this position supports the Director of Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk regarding all aspects of the University of Montana (UM) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. Essential duties and responsibilities associated with this position include:
Leading and administering regular risk assessments across the UM affiliation by facilitating the identification and assessment of risks throughout UM and its affiliate campuses
Assisting in the development and maintenance of meaningful reporting on enterprise risk issues, gaps, trends, and the University’s overall risk profile
Collaborating with risk owners and executive management to continuously improve risk management activities and oversight
Assisting in the development and implementation of risk awareness programs and risk trainings to create a culture of risk throughout the UM affiliation
Conducting other risk assessments on projects, initiatives, and strategies related to UM goals and objectives
Collecting/analyzing data and educating stakeholders
Developing presentations and communications for internal and external use
Generating and analyzing data, and producing reports/briefings relevant to ERM activities
Developing and maintaining successful professional relationships with key stakeholders
Administering efforts to mitigate priority risks discovered during the risk assessment process
Managing all agendas and presentation materials for ERM Committees
Developing ERM tools, practices, and policies to analyze and report enterprise risks to stakeholders
Overseeing the development of communication and staff engagement tools for the ERM function through intranet page, blog, seminars, and trainings

Position Details
Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, MUS Contract and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including insurance package, mandatory retirement plan, partial tuition waiver, and wellness program
Salary for this position is $50,000-$60,000 per year commensurate with qualifications
Minimum Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, business analytics, or related fields and a minimum of 3 years of experience in risk-related areas, including operations, compliance, finance, insurance, within a highly risk-driven environment; or a combination of education and experience that would provide the competencies to successfully discharge the duties of the position
Experience in quantitative analysis, project management, and executive report writing
Demonstrated experience or knowledge of COSO’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework
Understanding of how key risks and controls impact the University from an operational, strategic, compliance, reputational, and financial perspective
High business acumen and ability to understand the University’s strategy
Strong time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize initiatives to meet expectations
Strong communications skills – both verbal and written - with the ability to speak to a diverse audience
Exceptional attention to detail while being able to multitask
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in management information systems, business analytics, or related field
Experience in higher education
Knowledge of current research in the risk management and insurance industries
Ability to generate and execute creative ideas to integrate the enterprise risk, emergency preparedness, and compliance functions into a cohesive and comprehensive program
Excellent questioning skills to discover issues and ability to identify issues and opportunities
Ability to apply knowledge, deploy resources, focus efforts and gain consensus to address issues and capitalize on opportunities
Excellent project management skills and the ability to lead others in achieving goals, objectives, and deadlines on project work
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to tailor content, presentation, and language to various audiences
Strong Microsoft Office and Google Apps skills, with particular attention to Excel/Sheets and PowerPoint/Slides skills
Demonstrated leadership ability in enterprise risk contexts
