The Who, What, Why and Where
Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead infrastructure and quality capabilities for the Flex BU. Flex, the first fully programmable cloud contact center, is a platform product that integrates native Twilio services while serving up a pluggable infrastructure that allows partners and customers to extend and customize the platform for their unique needs. This new role sits within the Flex product BU and will support the acceleration of quality goals for the BU and align and influence broader Twilio goals in the platform discipline. You will build an organization of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) and Application Testing (SDET) teams that raises the bar on overall product quality by evolving our deployment pipelines, tools, and testing capabilities to world class status. Flex teams, much like all of Twilio, own their services from inception to production. This role will accelerate the tools and capabilities available to teams and ensure consistency across the BU. In this role, you will develop a strategy and prioritize implementation of the highest ROI value items for the BU that accelerate our ability to deploy, manage, and test our systems across multiple pods or geographies. You will lead teams to solve technical challenges alongside Flex application development engineers that allow us to win as a team. In this role, you will be part of a global team that is changing how we look at platform capabilities within Flex and you will partner with Twilio platform teams to influence and contribute back to broader corporate platform strategies; seeing your ideas implemented across the entire Twilio R&D organization.
