Sr Cloud and MongoDB Backend Data Solutions Architect

The Sr Cloud and MongoDB Backend Data Solutions Architect leads the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud computing. The Senior Cloud Architect work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

What you will do in this position

Engage with application and engineering teams to design No-SQL/MongoDB solutions that integrate with the application design

Gather and document requirements based on desired outcomes

Advise application teams on proper data access/integration patterns for No-SQL/MongoDB solution and document solutions

Advise No-SQL/MongoDB platform engineering teams on application specific sizing and performance needs based on application data access patterns and document solutions

Engage with vendors to validate solutions

Engage with enterprise security and architecture teams to validate solutions

Document solution design

Gain consensus on solution designs from all stakeholders

Lead solution implementation issue resolution working across application, engineering, architecture, security, and vendor product teams

Own design and implementation of new solutions through the entire lifecycle [Proof-of-Concept -> Pilot -> Minimal-Viable-Product -> Adoption -> Enhancement -> Retirement]

Lead work streams that define and execute projects and system implementations; work across multiple efforts simultaneously

Deliver written and verbal communication for project status updates

Present new technologies and analysis to internal governance bodies, determine best action plans for engineering design and implementation projects that meet Humana business and risk management requirements

Required Qualifications:

Degree in computer science/information systems, engineering or related field preferred; or a corresponding number of years' experience in technical operations or software engineering

5 years of managing customer application design engagements - requirement management, architectural design, and proposal documentation/presentation

3 years of experience designing and implementing NoSQL/MongoDB data base solutions as a backend developer

Desired Experience

3 years of experience applying data design and backend application design architectural principles and methodologies

3 years working on Agile teams

3 years' experience with relevant scripting languages or programming frameworks desired - BASH, PowerShell, NodeJS, Java, .Net, etc

2 years of experience designing and implementing solutions in Google Cloud Platform GCP, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon AWS

Demonstrable experience designing and implementing:

Backend data access/integration patterns

Database security including field level encryption and data masking

Data access patterns and strategies for resilient/scalable systems (saga, circuit-breaker, retry, sharding, etc)

Demonstrated experience troubleshooting application-side data issues and effectively diagnosing problems

Track record learning new technologies, applying new skills, and sharing with peers and customers
