What is the role?

As IT Advisor you are going to have a broad scope of responsibility, helping us match technological advances with business operations at our downstream manufacturing site at Deer Park, Houston.

On one hand, you will be using your expertise in both IT and business analysis to drive our business intelligence, spotting opportunities and informing future strategy that will keep us ahead of the market. On the other, you will optimise your knowledge of the latest technologies, ensuring that data, processes and technology solutions are embedded in the organisation using a hands-on mentality.

A self-starter with excellent organisational skills, it is your talent for communications that will see you succeed. Working collaboratively with a range of business and IT stakeholders, you will help to impart a unified understanding of how IT can support business improvements, managing expectations and influencing decision-making.

You will take ownership on a wide variety of IT related activities and drive these through to conclusion to deliver the desired business outcome. You will need to collaborate with various teams in our IT community to delivers results, e.g. Service Operations, Competency Centre, Information Risk Management, Architecture etc.

Where you fit in

This role provides support to the Site IT Manager, with a focus on business continuity and improving the IT landscape at our Deer Park site. You will be a first point of contact for helping business and IT colleagues implement innovative IT solutions and identify and resolve concerns, supporting overarching IT performance that brings the best value to the business.

Requirements:

What we need from you

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate / possess most of the following skills / attributes:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

An active TWIC card or the ability to get TWIC card ( https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic ).

Able to work closely with site stakeholders at all levels to build trust and understand their goals, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment.

Broad knowledge of IT concepts and architecture to be able to challenge colleagues in a healthy manner.

Relevant knowledge of Downstream Manufacturing (Refinery and Chemicals) Business environment and awareness of the associated business processes.

Experience within the field and a familiarity with heavy industry processes (for example chemicals, automotive, utilities, etc.) is desirable.

Minimum eight (8) years of IT experience, preferably as a Business Analyst or in IT Service Operations.

Bachelor’s Degree related to Information Technology required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience with Information Management and/or Process Control Domain.

A broad understanding of digitalization and associated tools and techniques.

Experience working with multiple internal and external groups to support successful delivery outcomes.
