Aon is looking for a Software Developer for its Actuarial Team Aon Reinsurance Solution’s actuarial team provides advanced analytics at global scale by leveraging Aon's position as the industry-leading broker of reinsurance. The qualified candidate, as part of the Innovation Team, will help develop and automate these analytics. This role is based in our downtown Chicago office but may be filled remotely. Why Aon? Our data and analytics help to serve our mission and business. Your Impact as a Software Developer – ActuarialYour primary role is to provide tools to help our reinsurance actuaries efficiently complete industry-leading actuarial analytics, such as reinsurance pricing analyses and structure comparisons.  You will need to understand our sophisticated actuarial procedures, and work with other developers, actuaries, and reinsurance specialists to automate solutions. We have career development paths and promote from within first. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESArchitect, write, and review code and libraries to automate reinsurance analysesArchitect and deploy solutions to internal groups using Docker and other current technologiesDevelop visualizations and dashboards to explain reinsurance analytics to actuaries, account specialists, and clients.Work as part of a development team, using leading software tools and practicesWork with colleagues (team members, brokers, account specialists, and others) to identify and respond to issues and develop additional opportunities related to products and servicesBecome familiar with the details (terminology, practices, and conventions) of property casualty reinsuranceUnderstand the calculation of the costs and benefits of reinsurance risk transferredREQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS3 years developer experienceFluency in R or C#Experience programming financial calculationsExperience in the property-casualty insurance industry is preferredFamiliarity with software development practices such as object orientation, debugging, version control, and test suitesAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAbility to identify and resolve problems, think creatively, strategically and analyticallyAbility to understand and implement mathematical and statistical calculations  MINIMUM EDUCATIONBachelor’s Degree or equivalent requiredActuarial science, Math, Statistics or other quantitative field preferred  How we support our colleagues  In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
