Description

The Lead Cloud Architect leads the planning, design, and engineering of enterprise-level infrastructure and platforms related to cloud computing. The Lead Cloud Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Lead Cloud Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications for cloud computing environments. Develops specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action. Works under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Define, plan and realize departmental cloud vision.

Build holistic view of cloud strategy, processes, information, technology to enable business and customers to take advantage of advanced capabilities in the cloud in an agile and sustainable manner.

Define technology standards, roadmaps, modules and tools for departmental use.

Provide direction and architectural strategy on complex and dynamic issues.

Engage with leadership and SMEs to understand and build a holistic view of the enterprise strategy, processes, information and technology assets.

Set the framework for cloud adoption and migration, lead technical evaluations and recommendations.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree program.

8 or more years of technical experience in system engineer roles or information technology infrastructure support roles.

2 or more years of project leadership experience.

Expert in Azure cloud implementation, deployment.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Proven ability collaborating with executive management, IT, Sr. Management, business users

Keen ability to assess overall technical landscape and determine the optimal BI/Reporting solution, making recommendations for future state

Demonstrable skills in business intelligence, data warehouse modeling, database design, and system architecture with a focus on building secure applications at enterprise scale

Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team using git and leading data engineers with code reviews and pull requests using Azure DevOps, Github, Bitbucket, etc.

Strong experience with full life cycle projects (dev, test, prod)

Substantial experience with RDMS development, testing and deployment, with a particular focus on SQL Server 2016 Expertise with T-SQL and familiarity with SQL variants

Strong experience with SQL Server Integration Services or similar ETL tool

Strong experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell/Python

Working knowledge and/or understanding of Data Lakes and Cloud Storage

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a high-level of comfort explaining complex technical topics to business clients

Demonstrated ability implementing solutions on-premise as well as Azure, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Database, etc.

Will report to the Lead Technology Leadership Professional, IT SCS - Corp Functions IT Teams

This role will share information and collaborate with peers, technology, and business leaders.

Proven experience with Power BI (Power BI Online, Power BI Desktop), Tableau, or related BI tools is necessary

Substantial experience with SSAS / Analysis Services development, testing and deployment, with a particular focus on SQL Server Analysis Services (Tabular) and DAX highly

Working knowledge of data services offerings on other Cloud platforms, e.g. Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, etc.

Experience with custom application development using .NET, Java, JavaScript and/or related technologies and frameworks Benefits
