Description
The Lead Data Engineer Designs, builds, and maintains data processing architectures and solutions enabling the efficient conversion of structured and unstructured data to insights at enterprise scale. The Lead Data Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
Responsibilities
The Lead Data Engineer is passionate about creating customer-focused solutions and using technology to revolutionize traditional healthcare. Supports data integration with an aim to serve our internal and external partners. Someone with experience driving projects to completion, makes informed decisions and has excellent communication skills. The Lead Data Engineer will bridge the gap between technical expertise and business acumen and works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
The Lead Data Engineer provides cloud-based API support and handles data routing Handles the design and engineering of widespread data routing into larger systems. Supports operations and maintenance of GCP-based resource restructuring into single-tenancy model, migration of capabilities to Azure, Apigee migration. Evaluate fast and cost-efficient ways to leverage external data in products and analytics and implement scaled solutions to exchange data with partners. Ensures design, planning, integration, maintenance and support of on-prem and cloud architecture are followed. May work with stakeholders across organization to evaluate and identify appropriate solutions. Collaborates with product managers and engineers to develop specifications for new products/services, applications and solutions. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks and works under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
Required Qualifications:
8 or more years of progressive IT experience as a senior developer in large IT projects
6 or more years of Software Development experience in C# (.Net Core)
5 or more years of experience in building production-grade APIs, micro-services and streaming technologies
5 or more years of experience developing data driven software in Python application test suites
3 or more years of experience building cloud native solutions, preferably Google and Azure cloud technologies
3 or more years of development experience with Mongo DB
Hands-on experience with Swagger
Hands-on experience with Apigee migration tool
2 or more years of project leadership experience
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
Strong communication skills with ability to interact with business and customer representatives
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional experience around the data science lifecycle (feature engineering, training, model deployment)
Experience working with and building CI/CD pipelines
Experience working in the Azure data ecosystem (ADLS/Databricks/Eventhub/etc)
Experience working with Cloud-Based Data Pipelines (Azure Data Factory and Streamsets)

All Humana associates approved for the Home or Hybrid Home/Office work styles are required to self-provide wireless, wired cable or DSL access to the internet at the connectivity speeds required by the company to successfully perform their job with the exception of associates who live or work from home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
o At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
o Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
o Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
o Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
o Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
