Job Description:
What is the role?
Refers to the trading of products, whether physical or financial (we trade crude oil, natural gas, LNG, electricity, refined products, chemical feedstocks and environmental products). Contributes to building a successful portfolio that looks to generate value through a combination of customer flow, supply arrangements, product development, speculative trading and risk management.
Accountabilities:
Build and maintain fundamental models and tools used for trading analysis
Use statistical and other quantitative techniques to derive an historic, current, and forward supply and demand view
Become closely familiar with NGL and chemical product physical infrastructure, from well-head to end user, in the US Gulf Coast as well as key global players
Communicate market developments to the global team in real time
Look for ways to incorporate new data sources into the team’s modeling efforts
Work closely with traders within the team as well as other trading teams (crude, gasoline, natural gas, LNG, etc)
Identify/vet trading and business development opportunities based on fundamentally backed market view
Mentor junior analysts on the team
What we need from you
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Minimum three (3) or more years of experience with data analytics in a trading environment is a must.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Proficient in Excel, VBA, SQL, or other database language required.
Proficiency with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, or C#)
Thrives in a high-pressure multi-tasking environment where time sensitive tasks/projects must be consistently delivered with high quality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time sensitive deadlines.
Ability to make quick and well-reasoned decisions is critical.
Demonstrate Grasp of economic reasoning skills.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
