Description

Humana is seeking an experience Oracle Database Administrator who is passionate about improving processes and technology that are critical to the operation of our company.

You will be part of our Oracle Database Administration team which supports, among other things, a very large data warehouse. This position will provide critical support to our data warehouse running on Exadata and has the opportunity to help guide the architectural future of our systems.

Responsibilities

The Senior Database Administrator performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost. Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications

Demonstrate knowledge of best practices and ability to provide thought leadership for solutions to architectural, database administration, and other complex business problems

5 years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and managing enterprise-scale Oracle databases

3 years supporting Exadata environments (or equivalent ASM/RAC experience)

Experience managing database performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager/AWR

Experience with Oracle Platinum Services/Platinum Patching preferred

Hands-on experience with performance analysis and tuning

Lead complex database software installations, patching, and upgrades

Provide thought leadership for solutions to architectural, database administration, and other complex business problems

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large-scale data warehouses

Experience with the implementation and configuration of Oracle Data Guard

Experience with Backup and Recovery strategies using RMAN

Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions, migration, and integration strategies

Experience with Oracle Platinum Services/Platinum Patching preferred
