Description

The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer Supports development and execution of cloud implementation strategy within organization's existing IT infrastructure. The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer works assignments involving moderately complex to highly complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer implements the organization's cloud strategy from a technical perspective, including design, planning, integration, maintenance, and support of cloud architecture. May work with stakeholders across organization to evaluate cloud systems and identify appropriate solutions. Collaborates with product managers and engineers to develop specifications for new cloud-based products/services, applications, and solutions. Drives the roll-out of cloud management platforms, evaluates its performance and implements enhancements. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to highly complex delivery issues and works without direct supervision to resolve issues. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

This Senior Cloud Solution Engineer will focus on database capabilities:

Provide cloud database support for engineering teams on capability building and best practices and patterns for multiple database platforms

Identify and create patterns for on premise to cloud database migrations

Identify opportunities to enhance current database automation processes

Identify new infrastructure automation opportunities

Prioritize projects based on customer needs and timelines

Multi-task with a variety of application and infrastructure teams

Effectively communicate project status and timelines to leadership

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

5 years of technical experience designing and deploying data solutions in one or more cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP)

2 years of experience with one or more CI/CD pipeline automation platforms (Github Actions, ADO Pipelines, Jenkins, Argo, etc)

2 years of experience with one or more cloud automation platforms (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Microsoft ARM, Amazon Cloud Formation, etc... )

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

2 years of experience with one or more relevant scripting language - BASH, PowerShell, Python, NodeJS, .Net, etc

2 years of experience with one or more code management platforms & practices (GitHub, Gitflow, GitOps)

Demonstrated experience with database migrations from on premise to cloud, preferably relational to NoSQL

Demonstrated experience learning new technologies, applying new skills, and sharing with peers and customers

Demonstrated experience with different database platforms (e.g.):

MongoDB Atlas

PostgreSQL

Azure Cosmos

Azure Synapse Analytics

Azure SQL Server

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing:

Backend data access/integration patterns

Database security including field level encryption and data masking

Data access patterns and strategies for resilient/scalable systems

Demonstrated experience troubleshooting application-side data issues and effectively diagnosing problems

Excellent troubleshooting skills

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
