Job Description:

The primary responsibility of the developer in the Compliance space is to serve as the technical expert on various compliance systems utilizing .Net and SQL skills. The current team is made up of 13 people including BA’s and developers. The developer will perform coding guidance, help with business interactions and execute change/code activities, this will include both project work and sustain and improvement enhancements. The developer will work alongside Project Managers, other developers, and BAs to provide IT solutions to meet business needs.

Key Accountabilities:

Compliance involves supporting the Trade reporting, Real time reporting, position limit processes, monitoring and other surveillance activity.

Developers in the compliance space work on projects, discretionary, operational items. This would include Business Analysis, Functional/Technical Requirements Definition, Technical Design, Technical Specifications & Acceptance Criteria, and Acceptance Test Plans

Unit, system integration, and E2E process coding and testing for new enhancements, projects and performs or facilitates change management communication to the user community on future IT solution changes.

Liaising with a diverse set of business and IT stakeholders

Liaising with external software vendors

Act as a technical expert for both business process and applications in delivery space.

Capture and analyse technical process and requirements in project, discretionary, operational items

Support operations in security, incident/problem management, change management and other run and maintain activities as a technical expert.

Champion global streamlined enterprise business processes and information standardization, as well as all IT procedures and policies.

Help handle escalations from the support team on operations when there is a system failure that they cannot decipher

Key Activities:

Assist and spearhead changes/development around Application Change Requests (ACR’s).

Develop technical documents for change requests (fault resolution and enhancements) and ensure completeness and business sign off.

Help provide Level 3 support when escalated to in conjunction with IT Services and Operations ITSO/SOM.

Participate in deployment related activities for bundle releases, including cutover planning and execution.

Participate in project activities as funded.

Help serve as technical subject matter expert Compliance.

Coach, mentor and cross train L2/L3 Business Analysts.

Help develop, change and implement system health checks. Work with business users on health check results to drive root cause analysis.

Work with IT Managers on all business initiatives involving compliance and assisting with recommendations and estimates on technical/functional solutions.

Key Challenges:

The Trading business is very dynamic and solutions provided to the business have significant impact to the bottom line. The compliance developer must be able to interact directly with the business in a demanding environment and deliver solutions with agility and flexibility.

Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and deliver practical solutions taking multiple agendas into account

Capacity to manage complex interfaces across organizational and geographic boundaries in both the Project team and the service delivery teams. This requires the capability to manage multiple tasks and have the ability to network / influence to achieve results.

Candidate should be well versed in the technical aspects of the Compliance solution, as well as the underlying business processes supported.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor's Degree.

Three (3) years plus development experience.

Experience in technical analyses, IT change management, IT project management, preferably within Shell context.

Familiar with a range of technical analysis, modelling, and design methods; has excellent knowledge of IT standards, applications, and trends.

Skilled in .NET development required.

Ability to write and execute SQL queries required.

Experience in communicating and partnering with stakeholders across cultures and at all organizations, singly and in groups

Comprehensive understanding of technical process improvement, benefit and risk management, and software testing and of all testing events throughout the development lifecycle.

Takes a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving and pays close attention to detail

Expert level knowledge of IT/Architecture, knowledge of the technology landscape including current developments and the most commonly available products.

Comprehensive understanding of business process improvement, benefit and risk management.

Knowledge of Trading.
