An exciting opportunity to work at the new Agile Hub within Shell, Global Commercial Chemicals. This new venture sets out to do things differently – we’re taking a unique approach, balancing human-centred design with an agile technology capability to tackle complex problems in original ways. With a great variety of potential projects in the portfolio, there are many different areas to investigate, so you’ll certainly not be bored!

We're looking for an experienced backend developer as part of our core team to take on some of our most demanding challenges to build and create products that will improve productivity and in turn change the way Shell Customer Experience works. You will be working closely with the engineering lead and developers in an agile environment with a high degree of freedom.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in IT experience on application development, project delivery, and support.

Must have experience with Go Programming Language (Golang).

The following skills are required:

Experience in scalable backend development

One or more: Java, Go, Python, C Kubernetes, Microservices, GRPC

Test driven development & writing of unit tests

Git version control

Fully automated CI/CD

Agile (Scrum & Kanban)

Cloud experience (Microsoft Azure and/or AWS)

Significant experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

Experience in ‘Infrastructure as code’

GraphQL APIs

Mobile app development (IOS & Android, React Native)
