The VP of Software R&D is the cornerstone in the GE Additive software team P&L strategy and success
In this role you will lead a global Software group and work in close alignment with external and internal stakeholders in prioritizing and executing across full range of product activities to achieve the GE Additive business growth plans. This position is a global position and will report directly to GM of the Software P&L.
GE Additive's Software VP will be a visionary leader, with an entrepreneurial spirit, and strong interpersonal and managerial skills.
The successful candidate should have understanding and experience in building software such as: Design, 3D Printing, FEA, IoT, e-commerce, Analytics and PLM.
The successful candidate should be a servant leader and team player who empowers others to do their best work and is genuinely passionate about delivering products and services that work exceptionally well for people, with the desire and ability to be hands-on when needed. This leader will have experience in building and scaling best-in-class software teams and will lead by example with a “Can-Do” mentality and mindset.
Location is Waltham MA.

Responsibilities
End-to-End responsibility for the company's R&D vision, performance, and deliverables
Be both a highly technical authority and effective people manager
Lead a Lean / Agile driven process
Provide design and architecture leadership. Design and implement solutions and architecture for complex engineering problems
Responsible for full lifecycle of the product, from planning, to development, to testing and to supporting the product in production
Responsible for the development of cutting-edge, highly scalable software embedded with CAD, computer graphics, simulation, machine learning, computer vision, IoT, etc...
Perform a full range of leadership responsibilities: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees, assigning and directing work, driving performance management, managing unit budgets, tracking & improving R&D KPIs and more
Management of global R&D team in multiple locations
Requirements
12 years of hands-on industry experience in software development
Proven experience in managing the development of multi components, multi layers, distributed systems (on premise and in the cloud)
Independence & quick decision-making abilities, sound judgement for raising flags in time
Ability to work under pressure and in a very dynamic environment
Customer orientation
Experience in new concept and product development as well as sustaining engineering
Proven experience in Cloud products and platforms.
Proven experience building and delivering cloud solutions based on WebGL and 3D experience with interfaces to CAD platforms
Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Passioned for technology & open source.
Cross-platform knowledge (web, back-end, algorithms).
Prior experience in working with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP) and solutions (Docker, Kubernetes)
Prior experience in deploying and maintaining a production-grade backend system and/or RESTful API.
Prior experience with Front-End platforms (e.g. Vue, Vueitfy).
Familiarity with IIOT and Analytics concepts.
Familiarity with Compute Vision concepts.
Familiarity with Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts.
Familiarity with MES.
Prior entrepreneurship experience is a plus
