Humana is pioneering an initiative to modernize and transform member administration platform and adjacent enterprise capabilities with a goal to enable seamless consumer experience and drive profitable membership growth across diverse business lines. This will involve a multi-year technology strategy that will focus on identifying the right technical stack, designing and implementing a cutting edge scalable data intensive member administration platform & integrating all the components to deliver cohesive member administration capabilities.

The Lead Application Architect role provides an opportunity to be a part of this transformative journey within Humana to build a best in class member administration platform leveraging cloud first strategy and agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

The Lead Application Architect designs and develops IT applications architecture solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards. The Lead Application Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Humana is seeking a Lead Application Architect that:

Works closely with the Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture teams & vendors to ensure that a coherent & consistent approach to design & integration is realized.

Performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications.

Develops specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings.

Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent applications.

Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.

Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision.

Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Designs Cloud based solutions at scale, preferably Microsoft Azure & Oracle Cloud.

Drives the design and implementation of solutions using event based architecture.

Experience with designing & implementing ETL solutions at scale.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

8 or more experience as a senior developer in large IT projects

Experience/ Knowledge in design/implementation of network topology for cloud infrastructure

Cloud Computing (Experience with designing Cloud based solutions at scale)

Event Based Architecture (Preferably Kafka knowledge)

Experience with SOA, APIs & micro-services

Experience with relational & NoSql DB

Experience with designing & implementing ETL solutions at scale

Experience/ Knowledge in design/implementation of network topology for cloud infrastructure.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Oracle Cloud experience preferred

Mongo DB experience would be a plus
