What’s the role?
The Senior Functional Analyst owns the design and development of technical solutions meeting the IT project needs of the business.
This role supports the planning, development and use of middleware technologies and services for integrating systems and exposing, transporting and consuming data in a secure and reliable manner across a hybrid of applications, services and trading partners both on premise and in the Cloud.
This role requires expertise in SAP enterprise project and portfolio management area (EPPM) including Project system with development capabilities for the Capital & wells Engineering area in Upstream/Downstream verticals of Oil & Gas industry.
Key responsibilities
Apply experience in delivering complete SAP enterprise project and portfolio management area (EPPM) including Project system solutions to clients, proficient in analyzing and translating Business/Process requirements to technical requirements.
Performs the SAP configurations & ensures that Build standards are adhered to best practices
Understands the SAP configurations & master data activities with cross functional area Integration with PM/HR/FI/CO/MM/SD/BW.
Understanding of Business requirements and develop the IT Solution by working along with Process Architects/Design Authorities.
Works with Lead Business Analyst/Process Experts to develop technical design specification for solutions with high complexity.
Performs Unit Test, and supports Integration Test for the applicable solutions.
Coach and advise Application Delivery Analysts, Driving and supporting the Managed Services team on Complex area example- Budget Management, Time writing issues for timely issue resolution for business.
Undertake Problem Analysis to identify root causes of incidents, escalating findings within the Line and Business, to minimize such incidents re-occurring.
Drive resolution of defects during test cycles and hyper care as well as for critical incidents.
Supports the resolution of Production issues in meetings with the Run & Maintain organization.
Define and Safeguard IT solution to ensure Robust, Supportable & Scalable to ensure IT documentations are updated prior to CAB meetings.
Propose any possible functional improvement in the existing solutions.
Has detailed functional understanding of the application / module in their scope and how this is supporting the business process.
Ensure that all changes are properly and extensively documented.
Fully comply with and adhere to, all Group and Upstream IT standards and Processes.
What we need from you?
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree.
At least 9 years total relevant experience:
Minimum 9 years of experience in SAP enterprise project and portfolio management area (EPPM) including Project system with at least 5 years in SAP Investment Management.
Minimum of 2 end-to-end SAP implementations, involving hands-on design or configuration.
Extensive experience in SAP enterprise project and portfolio management area (EPPM) including Project system and working experience in SAP Investment Management, Human Resource & Finance module.
Skills with only Support/testing experience or majority of support/testing experience will not be suitable.
Excellent Knowledge of Integration of SAP Project system with SAP PM/HR/FI/CO/MM/SD/BW.
Excellent Knowledge of Integration of SAP Project system with SAP project and portfolio management & Commercial project Management.
Good Knowledge of SAP Project system Process with Finance/HR ( Example- Asset accounting / CATS Time writing etc ).
Hands on Experience of ABAP- Tables/Functional Modules/IDOC’s/ Batch Job Management / BI & BW reports / Fiori Time writing / Query Development.
SAP Certifications in Project System Area/ SAP enterprise project and portfolio management area (EPPM) / S4 HANA Professional Area ( Cloud OR On-Premise) will be added advantage
Experienced in market standard solutions like Concur/Ariba / Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Experience in leading design workshops to map business requirements for SAP enterprise project and portfolio management area (EPPM) including Project system and Investment Management Area.
Dedication to meet the customer requirements and expectations, taking ownership of problems and respond in a proactive manner where appropriate.
Be actively involved in the preparation, conceptualization, realization and Go Live of projects.
Configure and document software and processes, using agreed standards and tools.
Perform feasibility studies and process design reviews
Analyze and map clients’ business requirements, processes and objectives; develop necessary product modifications to satisfy clients ‘needs.
Good understanding of Upstream Oil & Gas and/or Manufacturing industries business processes
Accurately capture business problems, value drivers, functional/non-functional requirements and costs, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
Translate business requirements into (conceptual) solutions and functionality including an assessment of the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts.
Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Create, update and maintain clear project documentation (requirements, processes, solutions etc), during the entire project lifecycle, and use to communicate with the stakeholders
Good English communication skills, verbally and in writing.
