Digital Product Design Manager.
The ideal candidate will be both a growth architect and collaborator
who will shape and focus the strategy of our L&D organization to accelerate this transformation. This people manager role
will have great impact in sparking interest, desire, and action amongst 270k employees in 130 countries to start & continue their lean learning journey on our internal learning platform, BrilliantYOU. BYOU is GE’s online delivery channel for lean education and career development at the company.

as you lead the next phase of the future of education on BrilliantYOU. At your disposal, is a rich content library headlined by a growing catalogue of premium self-paced masterclasses featuring lean experts teaching GE’s new management system with course supplements.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer friendly experiences with a deep understanding of how to design intuitive user interactions. This person will oversee & own the product roadmap and suggest improvements to the experience, design, and overall ease-of-use. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a history of designing products that have sticky engagement, sustained time spent, and a simple & elegant UI.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop content strategies
and demonstrate an ability to increase user engagement
and usage through high quality end user content experiences that drive awareness, and usage of services and features
Lead and oversee the design product roadmap
& drive prioritization with the team
Create design concepts and drawings to determine product improvements
Conduct user-research
with internal stakeholders to optimize product design and be the voice for customer-centric design innovation
while meeting business goals
Translate existing insights, technical constraints, business needs, and specific user demands to produce data-informed solutions
Modify and revise existing designs for true customer-centricity and advocacy, conduct research to gain a deep understanding of the user and their needs
Give and solicit feedback from other Designers and Engineers to continually raise our bar for quality, fit and finish
Lead, coach, and mentor
small multi-disciplinary teams
Employ design concepts into functional prototypes
Facilitate product development using personas, journey maps, research reports, sketches, wireframes, and prototypes
Provide strategy & consultation to administrators uploading content to the site
Maintain up to date on current industry trends & market conditions
Coordinate with design resources to ensure accurate communication and efficiency in the design phase
Minimum Qualifications & Eligibility
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HCI, interaction design, industrial design, communication design, architecture
9 years product design experience, specifically building online web experiences with content media
You have an online portfolio, or PDF that you can share with us.
Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
For this role, it can be located anywhere in the US, preferably in a location where we have a GE office, but remote is also ok

Preferred Qualifications
Incredible visual design chops with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense and how these elements impact product function
You possess a strong understanding of usability and user experience principles
Experience representing work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts
Experience leading product direction and strategic thinking while developing product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on the impact to people and the company
Excellent attention to detail, meticulous and diligent
Strong knowledge of the industry and market and emerging tech trends
