Description
The Senior Product Owner is responsible for conveying product vision and roadmap to an Agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing product backlog. The Senior Product Owner work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
Location: Remote
The Integrated Clinical Capabilities Senior Product Owner will work as a liaison and manage projects between IT and the various clinical groups supporting Care Management lines of business. Gathers and documents business system and functional requirements, influences system design to optimize support and ensures solutions meet the business objectives and requirements. Completes and/or coordinates implementation of design and requirements, testing, operational readiness, and transition to the appropriate production support team. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Facilitate meetings with business partners and IT partners to discuss and document business needs in a way that will support IT development.
Coordinate across teams on milestones and implementation of the project deliverables
Communicate with IT and business project managers to align on status and for reporting out to leadership
Consults in feature and epic development
Define and creates user stories and defines acceptance criteria
Runs and leads grooming sessions for backlog refinement to ensure stories
Acts as the customer for developer questions
Handles user story prioritization and management
Key communicator of product decisions and business objectives to the product team
Able to run the day to day business by working with the development team to fill sprints
Presents a sprint demo after every sprint to stakeholders
Takes part in post-production validation but not deployment and accepts stories
Models and encourages Agile behaviors within the team
Works with the Product Manager in order to forecast the overall roadmap
Role Essentials
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Information Systems or equivalent work experience
5 years or more of experience in clinical systems as a product owner with emphasis on writing quality stories
Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle, Waterfall, and Agile Development Methodologies
Experience in IT business analysis, including artifacts development
Experience problem solving and consultation within complex environments
Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams' efforts
Ability to work independently and efficiently to manage multiple completing projects and initiates
Must be able to work in an agile environment with a certain level of unknown specifications/requirements
Role Desirables
Working knowledge of Azure DevOps
Clinical experience including knowledge of care plans and assessments
CGX or HCAT application experience
SAFe Agile PMPO certification
