Your role in helping us shape the future:
You will collaborate within the organization to lead the design and implementation of an evolved packet core within software-defined datacenters to be deployed globally. As the subject-matter expert for Intelsat's next-generation core network, you will lead development of a clear technology roadmap to offer mobility services that surpass any the satellite industry has offered to date, while ensuring seamless integration between the terrestrial and space-based components with a standards-compliant architecture. Successful execution of the technology roadmap will be ensured with your leadership of senior technical staff across the organization. To achieve the desired results, you will support the product team in the ideation stage, as well as network engineering in the planning, implementation and launch stages of the product development life cycle.

Define technology initiatives to achieve the corporate strategy and communicate this strategy with key stakeholders to facilitate program execution.
Provide technical leadership for engineering staff across the organization.
Author RFPs, evaluate vendor responses, lead the technical evaluation and selection process for mobile core network technologies.
Define architectures for next-gen systems to facilitate product enablement of new services.
Create and present the value proposition for new mobile core systems and processes.
Provide technical leadership for Intelsat’s technology roadmap, including 4G and 5G network technologies to be leveraged for mobility use cases.
Lead the design of a 4G/5G core that integrates seamlessly with Intelsat’s IP/MPLS network and work with network engineering to ensure successful deployments globally.
Identify technologies, systems and processes to reduce CAPEX and OPEX, then create technical documentation and presentations to effectively communicate your ideas.
Provide thought leadership for ideation of mobile network architectures, identify the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to benchmark alternative solutions, present findings and recommend enhancements to Intelsat’s network based on objective analysis.
Can you drive these processes?
Ideation of new products and services enabled with a 4G/LTE and 5G core networks.
Move innovation initiatives through the product development lifecycle to offer new services.
Architecture, development and testing of mobile network functions to ensure seamless interoperability between Intelsat and Mobile Network Operators (MNOs).
Definition of new telecommunications standards to ensure they are supported by Intelsat’s space-based platforms.
Implementation of 3GPP standards for non-terrestrial networks to support 5G communications
You should definitely have:
This role is subject to EAR/ITAR and candidates must be US Persons (US Citizens, Permanent Residents, Asylees, Refugees)
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology
Expertise with 3GPP and other relevant standards for mobile networks
At least 15-years of recent relevant experience with mobile network architecture and design
Subject-matter expertise with Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and 5G core networks employed by Mobile Network Operators, as well as the implementation of these technologies over satellite
The ability to lead collaboration with other individual contributors and resolve complex problems
A thorough understanding of current and future service offerings for mobility customers and terminal equipment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to Intelsat’s executive leadership team, influence stakeholders and garner their support
The ability to provide technical leadership for engineering staff, identify and resolve issues, and move projects forward
Experience leading architecture and development activities for a Mobile Network Operator or technology supplier
Relevant technical certifications with 4G/5G core and virtualization technologies
It would be nice if you had:
Experience working with Standards Definition Organizations
Practical experience with ETSI MANO and network function virtualization
Understanding of Radio Access Networks
