Description

Humana is seeking a Senior Analytics Professional who will perform forecasting and analysis of data in the areas of cost accounting, financial reporting and planning. Work on profit improvement initiatives, and on various departmental projects, utilizing the results generated to create consolidated reporting for leadership. This person will also act as a liaison, partnering with associates from other business areas with the goal of maintaining established processes, issue resolution, and special projects.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Senior Financial Analytics Professional

Location: Louisville, KY

We are looking for someone with experience in compiling, modeling, interpreting and analyzing data in order to identify, explain, influence variances and trends.

This individual must be able to explain variances and trends and enhance modeling techniques. Utilize your experience working with moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Develop methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing financial data and preparing complex analyses

Ensure departmental adherence to corporate guidelines, performance standards and all applicable laws and regulations

Build reconciliation systems, migrating data to a single platform and aligning Humana's internal reporting with the Enterprise Data Warehouse

Perform required maintenance and issue resolution of department databases to ensure optimal performance

Utilize a proficient level of experience within SQL & Access encompassing the ability to interrupt underlying code to determine root cause and perform issue resolution

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

5 years technical experience

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including ability to link pivots to external data sources, create pivot tables and summarize data into reports and dashboards

Advanced proficiency in SQL including ability to write queries and understand database structure and design

Advanced Microsoft Access skills including ability to link to external data sources, pass-through queries, data structure and relationship design

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

Financial or actuarial background

Project Management experience

Experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations and/or the analysis of healthcare data

This will be a hybrid position that will have work at home flexibility.
