The University of Plymouth is seeking an IT Manager to join their Technology and Information Services (TIS) teams. TIS focuses on providing efficient IT services with a cloud-first approach, increasing digital capabilities for staff and students, and ensuring a seamless and edgeless end-to-end digital experience for all stakeholders. As the Senior DevOps Engineer (Management), this role will report directly to the Head of IT Product Development & Delivery and play a critical role in developing and implementing the University's infrastructure services, tooling automation, and continuous improvement strategies. You will oversee the design, building, and maintenance of infrastructure for software implementation, integrations, and operations. This key position will be instrumental in shaping the University's strategic vision for the future. Key responsibilities will include working closely with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure the University’s on-premise and cloud infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and governance across the University’s IT services. You will work collaboratively with Technical Team Leads, IT Business Partners, and Solution Architects to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in infrastructure services, take part in initiatives that support the University’s growth and competitiveness and prioritise IT pipeline resolutions.
