Job Description:

An Application/Service Support Analyst typically works in Landscape Management or Service Management teams and is responsible to continually monitor and measure service performance to ensure reliable and secure delivery of application and infrastructure services to business end users. They also get involved in change and/or enhancement requests to application landscapes/infrastructure components to ensure changes are released into the Production environment without an impact to service continuity. Application/Service Support Analysts are also involved in Problem and Incident Management processes for the application landscape OR infrastructure services they are responsible for. In this area they ensure incidents are appropriate escalated and resolved while at times also providing deep technical expertise to troubleshoot issues.

Accountabilities:

Responsible for delivery of secure and reliable IT service operations for all own operated services as well as all managed (internal & external) services meeting service levels.

Responsible for fast response and execution of operational escalations with business impact.

Evergreening and service quality improvement in strong partnership with other Shell IT functional / support.

Act as a subject matter expert and technical lead towards support teams

Assist with complex operational issues and ensure support is delivered against service levels and in line with support models.

Provide guidance and consultation during problem management reviews to ensure complex problems are being worked appropriately.

Ensure services meet functional standards and are in full compliance with Shell framework for Information Security and Regulatory compliance, and that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices are applied correctly.

Ensure technical and service documentation is delivered and maintained.

Own the technical design and integrity of the full Landscape and provide technical assurance to projects ensuring delivery of cost effective, compliant, reliable and sustainable solutions.

Assess the implication of changes (desktop, hosting, middleware and applications) impacting the landscape.

Resolve structural issues and seek opportunities to standardize and simplify while protecting high value initiatives and longer term organizational capabilities.

Execute successful deployments of new applications and release upgrades in close partnership with product teams.

Foster relationships with other IT teams in Shell that contribute to application integration and the end-to-end service delivery model of the relevant applications.

Work closely with the Real Time Operational Landscape Management to support landscape ever greening activities as well as other ad hoc improvement & upgrade initiatives.

Guide Managed Service Supplier(s) on Shell work processes, Shell organisation and ways of working (provide corporate knowledge).

Work with senior Business leaders, peers and subordinates, in a virtual, geographically dispersed and cross cultural environment

Self-motivated with the ability to deliver results working independently or as part of a team.

Setting priorities and work multiple activities concurrently in rapidly changing environment.

Occasional call-out for major operational issues.

As this is a global role, there will be out of office hour meetings.

Requirements:

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor's Degree required.

Minimum five (5) years' experience in technical support roles with intermediate to expert knowledge of the different OSISoft PI Systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of industry standard IT service management practices (e.g. ITIL).

Significant experience in the following areas is highly desirable:

​Tracking of Landscape SLA’s.

Assurance of continuous improvement to landscape scope, working with Delivery Verticals to enable innovation.

End-to-end responsible for Incident and Problem related application support activities (break-fix), even when part of the execution is in the Delivery Vertical or Enterprise Services.

End-to-end responsible for the Operate Landscape lifecycle.

Responsible for delegated Transition to Support for specific landscapes.

Responsible for Enterprise Service Management KPI’s for their landscapes.

Assurance of Configuration Management Database integrity for their landscapes.

Strong stakeholder management experience to work and communicate effectively across divest stakeholders at all level of the organization.

Team player who works effectively across the organization and levels of the organization.

Demonstrate strong problem solving and analytical skills.
